Pianist Xiayin Wang Plays Concert At Shakespeare Theater Of NJ 5/8

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present a special piano concert event featuring the internationally known, exciting, young pianist Xiayin Wang (pictured) on Friday, May 8 at 8 p.m. at the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts, 36 Madison Avenue, Madison (on the campus of Drew University). Proceeds from the concert will benefit The Shakespeare Theatre's extensive education programs.

An artist with a winning combination of consummate technical brilliance, fine musicianship, and personal verve, pianist Xiayin Wang wins the hearts of audiences wherever she appears. As recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral soloist at such venues as New York's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, she has earned a place among the musical elite of her generation.

"Even for the most gifted young pianist, it takes a lot to be noticed...Xiayin Wang is clearly doing something right," said Steve Smith of The New York Times of Ms. Wang's Carnegie Hall recital. "(She has) an estimable grasp of pianistic color and an ability to maintain and illuminate a strand of melody within the thickest of textures." Ms. Wang's performance is made possible courtesy of Palomino Entertainment Group. Her May 8th program at the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts, a prelude to her Alice Tully Hall recital, will include the following:
