The riveting courtroom drama, "A Few Good Men," comes to the stage at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Maurer Productions OnStage presents this story of deception and conspiracy at high levels of the military on Fridays, Jan. 21 and 28 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Jan. 22 and 29 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays, Jan. 23 and 30 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening performance on Jan. 21.
Written by Aaron Sorkin, "A Few Good Men" pits inexperienced Navy lawyer, Lt. Daniel Kaffee, against top brass as he attempts to defend two Marines on trial for murdering one of their own. As the court case proceeds and the specter of conspiracy arises, the tenacious Kaffee finds himself asking complex questions of honor, duty and humanity that demand answers. The show premiered on Broadway in 1989; a highly successful film version starring Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson was released in 1992.
