Following a stellar second season of professional theater and the inaugural summer of Shakespeare in the Park, Black Box Studios kicks off its third season with Dale Wasserman's ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, from the novel by Ken Kesey and presented in special arrangement with Samuel French, inc.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest opened at the Black Box Performing Arts Center on September 20.
Matt Okin directs the play as you've never seen it before, with Allison Falkenstern as Assistant Director. The show features the talents of Julian Faust, Jake Geary, Matt Kiesling, Sebastian LaPointe, Stephan Marcellus, Samantha Quiles, Oscar Selby, Sarah Spring, and Laurence Wallace, along with Black Box Repertory members Allison Falkenstern, Jason Felix, Michael Gardiner, Samuel Hapner-Goldman, and Larissa Terese. Larissa Terese also serves as Production Stage Manager, with Samantha Quiles as Assistant Stage Manager, and Nimon Ibrahimaj and Samuel Hapner-Goldman as Technical Directors.
Heralded as "One of the finest, most meaningful and most moving play of recent times," (WPIX TV), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest follows criminal Randle P. McMurphy to a mental institution as he hopes to receive a lighter treatment than he would in prison. While institutionalized, he clashes with the Head Nurse Ratched, befriends the presumed deaf and dumb Chief Bromden, and meets a whole host of other "crazy" characters.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest continues at BBPAC Thursday-Sunday until October 7.
