Phoenix Productions will celebrate their 30th birthday with a unique and exciting evening of musical theatre on Saturday, February 24th at the Count Basie Theatre This one-night-only celebration, dubbed "The Phoenix 30th Anniversary Gala, Show Much More" features more than 100 Phoenix alumni and a bevy of songs and dances from Phoenix's first 30 years as well as musical numbers from classic and current Broadway hits that could be their next 30 years.
This fast-paced musical event is hosted by Olivier Nominee and Broadway star Jared Gertner who appeared on the Count Basie stage in five Phoenix shows from 1992 to 1999 before embarking on his professional career. Corporate sponsors include Microsoft Corporation, Declarations, Inc., World Subaru and Red Oak Mortgage.
The creative team is helmed by Producer Brian LaRue, Writer and Director James Grausam, and Music Supervisor and Conductor Joe Wajda with additional music direction by Phoenix favorites Beth Moore, Andrew Macirowski, Amy Fredericks, and Bob Sammond. The choreography team includes Kelly Gemellaro, Rachel Wasser, Alex Acevedo, Jessica O'Brien, and Nicole Ceballos with scenic design by Ashley Cusack, Costume Coordination by Joanne Penrose, and Stage Management by Carolyn Stefanelli.
"This is a rare experience to witness over 100 Phoenix Performers singing and dancing 60 of the greatest numbers in Broadway musical theater history," remarks director James Grausam. "There's something for everyone - tap, love songs, full production numbers - from Broadway classics to today's newest hits with everything in between."
