Performing Arts Series at the Warren County Library in Belvidere Concludes 6/1

The world of Vampires and Zombies will come alive in the final workshop of the Performing Arts Series at the Warren County Library in Belvidere on Saturday, June 1 at 10 am , featuring hands-on instruction in theatrical make-up for aspiring performers.

Participants in the fun and free workshop will learn to transform their face with the magic of theatrical makeup. During the 90 minute workshop participants will learn some of the basics of makeup application with regard to trauma simulation with applications into the world of vampires and zombies.

Workshop instructor Erik Gaden, a graduate of the Centenary College Theater program and a Centenary Stage Company teaching artist, will take students through some of the basics of application, with a lucky few individuals able to walk out of the class transformed into the world of the "walking dead". Additional theatrical makeup application techniques (old age, fantasy, animals) may be explored depending on time. Necessary materials for the workshop will be provided by the Centenary Stage Company.

The four-part Performing Arts Workshop Series has including "Singing for Theatre", "Stage Combat", and "Acting", as well as the Theatrical Makeup class. Classes are recommended for older teens and adults.

The Theatrical Make-up class will be held at the new Warren County Library Headquarters at 189 County Rt. 519 Belvidere.
