Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director; Todd Schmidt, Managing Director) a not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to rediscovering and re-imagining classic musicals and plays, is proud to announce the Theatre School Junior All Stars free holiday programming schedule for 2010. Paper Mill Playhouse Junior All Stars is a group of local, talented students ages 9-12 who have a passion for music and theatre and an enthusiasm to share it with others.

"Students in our theatre school love nothing more than performing," said Mickey McNany, Paper Mill Playhouse Theatre School Director. "Our Junior All Stars jumped at the chance to entertain and inspire those in our community who may need a little extra cheer this holiday. I'm sure everyone will enjoy this festive show!"

The 2010 tour presents: Santa's Holiday Hoedown! Santa's Toyshop is in danger of going bust! No money for materials means no presents... which means no Christmas! What's the gang going to do? Join the fun as the entire toyshop troop goes on the road to Branson, Missouri to raise the needed funds with a down-home country music jamboree. With reindeer masquerading as horses, lovely ‘Dolly Holiday' and elves that rock and roll, this clever show will have audiences 'yee-hawing' for more!

Emma Ohlig from Westfield, NJ was a Junior All Star performer in 2009, and is looking forward to participating again this year. She said, "It is so much fun, and I've made friends for life. I've learned so much about performing and being in front of live audiences." Her friend and fellow Junior All Star Victoria Napolitano, also from Westfield NJ, added, "It was wonderful to see the curiosity on the audience faces and to feel the excitement in the air when the All Stars take the stage. It was especially fulfilling to share our voices with the special needs children who in turn shared their voices with us."

During the tour, Paper Mill Playhouse Junior All Stars will perform for a variety of special needs groups. On December 9th, they will perform for at the Cerebral Palsy Center in Belleville, whose mission is to assist individuals with special needs to lead more active and productive lives within the community. At Horizon School in Livingston on December 14, they will again bring holiday cheer to people with Cerebral Palsy.
