Paper Mill Playhouse is proud to announce the official launch of the First Annual Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure at Opening Night of Steel Magnolias, Sunday March 9 at 6PM. The Komen North Jersey affiliate, under the leadership of Co-Founder and Executive Director Deborah Q. Belfatto, provides essential support for community-based breast health education, screening and treatment programs focusing on underserved and uninsured women, and breast cancer research.
In conjunction with Paper Mill's production of Steel Magnolias, Komen North Jersey has generously offered to install its deeply moving Journeys of Courage exhibit honoring those who battle with the disease in Paper Mill's Renee Foosaner Art Gallery throughout the run. Paper Mill is honored to welcome Komen North Jersey's guests to Opening Night, and to offer Race for the Cure participants incentives to join us at the theatre this year. The First Annual Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure is on Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Essex County Branch Brook Park (Newark).
Steel Magnolias is a story of survival and friendship on the most human level, one that deeply moves all of us, especially survivors and those who love them. It is a compelling piece of theatre for partnership with Komen to contribute to the quality of life of our shared communities.
Steel Magnolias will run at the Millburn theatre from March 5, 2008 through April 6, 2008. Steel Magnolias will play the following performance schedule: Wednesdays at 7:30PM, Thursdays at 2:00PM & 7:30PM, Fridays at 8:00PM, Saturdays at 2:00PM & 8:00PM and Sundays at 2:00PM & 7:30PM.
Single tickets are now on sale and range in price from $25 to $92. Student rush tickets are $20 and are available the day of performance in person with current student ID. Tickets may be purchased by calling 973-376-4343, or at the Paper Mill Box Office on Brookside Drive in Millburn, or online at www.papermill.org.
