Paper Mill Playhouse is proud to present over 100 New Jersey young artists from Paper Mill's Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory and the outstanding nominees from the Rising Star Awards 2008 as they bound onto the Paper Mill stage in a musical celebration of Paper Mill Playhouse's historic shining stage moments.  The crowning finale of our Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory Program, this year's New Voices concert will celebrate the rich history of Paper Mill Playhouse and showcase the musical theatre artists of tomorrow. The New Voices Concert of 2008 is the culminating event of Paper Mill's five week Summer Conservatory and is an original concert on the Paper Mill main-stage directed and choreographed by Paper Mill's professional artistic staff. The concert features over 100 students from the Senior, Junior Plus and Junior Divisions of the Conservatory, where for five weeks the students (ages 10-18) take classes in singing, dancing, acting, improvisation and attend guest artist workshops led by professional actors, directors and casting agents.  For two days only, Friday, August 1st at 7:30pm and Saturday August 2nd at 3:00pm and 7:30pm students will perform numbers from some of the historic performances at Paper Mill which include: Showboat, Follies, Crazy for You, and Children of Eden.

Single tickets range in price from $22.75 to $38.75.  Tickets may be purchased by calling (973) 376-4343, or at the Paper Mill Box Office on Brookside Drive in Millburn, or online at www.papermill.org.

The Paper Mill Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory is a five-week program of vigorous study allowing students to enhance their individual performance potential while also developing a broad base of theatre experience and knowledge.  Students participate in demanding singing, acting, dance, and improvisation classes and attend guest artist workshops led by professional actors, directors and casting agents.  The end of the month is devoted to rehearsals for the New Voices Concert, performed annually on the Paper Mill Stage.  The Conservatory offers the unique opportunity for gifted and talented young performers to work at their own level and challenge themselves to achieve new goals and learn new skills.  Key to the curriculum is the development of self discipline, respect, and a commitment to excellence that will serve these young artists throughout their lives.
