From now through Jan. 17, 2011, JerseyArts.com invites the public to vote for their favorite nonprofit arts groups in its third annual People's Choice Awards. The categories range from theaters and performing arts centers, to museums and galleries, to symphonies and dance companies (along with many more -15 total). Last year, over 6000 people cast their ballot, resulting in the 2009 win for Paper Mill Playhouse as Favorite Professional Theater (Equity). This year, Paper Mill Playhouse is nominated again for Favorite Professional Theater (Equity), along with Favorite Arts/Theater Camp for the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Musical Theater Conservatory.

The winners will be announced in February online at JerseyArts.com and via email to all the voters. Recipients will formally receive their awards in a ceremony at The Governor's Conference on Tourism in March 2011. "Paper Mill Playhouse is thrilled to receive a nomination in the category of Favorite Professional Theater (Equity), and for the first time in Favorite Arts/Theater Camp," said Paper Mill Playhouse's Managing Director, Todd Schmidt. "We are honored to be nominated for these awards by the hard-working professionals of the New Jersey arts community."

"We were thrilled last year when thousands of Paper Mill Playhouse supporters cast their vote for our theater," commented Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director of Paper Mill Playhouse. "To have our Summer Musical Theater Conservatory nominated this year is really exciting. Programs like our Theater School and the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Musical Theater Conservatory give students of all ages an opportunity to learn and explore elements of performance."

Jersey Arts Marketers (JAM) member organizations submitted online ballots to determine which groups would be nominated in each category. Groups that won in 2009 were automatically nominated for 2010 in their respective categories. The online poll is not considered scientific nor does it intend to make any evaluations as to artistic achievement or excellence; instead, it is designed to give the public a voice in determining the most popular arts institutions in New Jersey. Polls are open from Dec.1, 2010 through Jan. 17, 2011. Vote at http://JerseyArts.com/PeoplesChoice .
