Paper Mill Playhouse Elects Seven New Trustees to Not-For-Profit Theater's Board

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is proud to announce new members to the theater's Board of Trustees. W. Theodore Bourke, Marshall Everett, Brian A. Gragnolati, Jim Hughes, Charles Pascarella join the board, Governor Thomas H. Kean will serve as an honorary trustee and Dr. Elliot I. Stupak will be welcomed back to Paper Mill Playhouse as trustee emeritus. The Board of Trustees, with their diverse experiences and expertise along with their dedication to the arts, is essential in ensuring Paper Mill Playhouse achieves its artistic mission, meets financial goals and continues to be known nationwide as a creator of world-class theater.

These new trustees will be instrumental in continuing the legacy of Paper Mill Playhouse and I look forward to working with them."

Theodore Bourke, of Short Hills, New Jersey, is a retiree of Accenture, where he served as partner, and he is a former mayor of Millburn/Short Hills. Bourke served on the Millburn Township Committee from 2010 to 2016. Bourke also served on the leadership team for Millburn/Short Hills Youth Baseball, Millburn Sports Activity Foundation, Millburn High School Diamond Club and Saint Rose of Lima Church. Bourke has been a Paper Mill Playhouse subscriber and supporter for nearly 30 years.

Marshall Everett, of Chatham, New Jersey, is a 2011 graduate of Princeton University and 2016 graduate of Harvard Business School. Everett serves as Vice President, Investment and Development for Advance Property Investors. Prior to Advance, Marshall was with Goldman Sachs in the Real Estate Principal Investments Area.

Brian A. Gragnolati, of Mendham, New Jersey, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Health System. Before arriving at Atlantic Health System in 2015, Gragnolati was senior vice president, community division, at Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) in Baltimore, Md. In this role, he was successful in further developing the JHM Integrated Delivery and Financing System. Previously, Gragnaloti served as president and CEO of Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md., for 12 years, and four years as president and CEO of WellSpan Health in York, Pa. He has also held positions at the Medical Center of Vermont in Burlington, and Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. Last May, he was presented with the Byrne/Kean Arts Advocate Award. Overlook Medical Center, part of the Atlantic Health System, is the founding sponsor of the Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir, an award-winning arts education program that engages communities statewide as ambassadors for Paper Mill Playhouse.

Jim Hughes, of Morristown, New Jersey, was hired by Merrill Lynch in 1995 into the Financial Advisor training program in the Park Avenue office in New York City. In January of 2002, he transitioned to a leadership role in the Fifth Avenue Financial Center where he served until January of 2004. Since then Jim has lead markets across the country including Ohio, Washington, Indiana and New Jersey. Currently, Jim is the Market Executive of the Short Hills, NJ Market. With approximately 250 colleagues, the Short Hills Complex manages $27 Billion in assets and liabilities. The market Jim represents has a focus on the Wealth Management Segment with niche practices in the Ultra-High Net Worth Market as well as Institutional Benefit Plan and Municipal Bond Trading practices.

Charles Pascarella, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, is Managing Director of Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. in Morristown. Prior to this, he was the founding partner of the Pascarella Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. In 1977 he joined what has become, through many mergers and acquisitions, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. Since then his career has been marked with several notable distinctions. In 1978 he became a Certified Financial Planner; in 1990 he was promoted to what is now a Managing Director at Wells Fargo, as well as earning the prestigious designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst through the Wharton School of Business. Charles has served as the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners.

Thomas H. Kean, of Westfield, New Jersey, is the former governor and an arts advocate with a long-standing commitment to Paper Mill Playhouse and the arts in New Jersey. As governor, Kean was rated among America's most effective state leaders by Newsweek magazine and was noted for tax cuts that spurred 750,000 new jobs, a federally replicated welfare reform program, landmark environmental policies, and more than 30 education reforms. He delivered the keynote address at the 1988 Republican National Convention. He was re-elected for a second term by the largest margin in state history. While governor, he served on the President's Education Policy Advisory Committee and as chair of the Education Commission of the States and the National Governors Association Task Force on Teaching. He remains one of the most popular governors in New Jersey's history.

Elliot I. Stupak, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, served as Senior Vice president of Global Quality Audits and Compliance at Schering Plough Inc. During his 34-year tenure with Schering-Plough, Dr. Stupak held numerous positions including Senior Vice President of Development, with responsibility for the Biotechnology, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Development functions. Dr. Stupak also served as Team Chairman for several projects and therapy areas, including the Interferon and Oncology Teams. Dr. Stupak has been active in professional organizations during his career, including Pharma, where he served as Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Development Sub-Section. Dr. Stupak has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Paper Mill Playhouse.
