A bank, a library, an Italian restaurant -- where will they POP UP next? Bayonne Community Bank will host LOVE LETTERS, the play by A.R. Gurney, the latest in a series of POP UP Theater events in Union Township's Downtown Center presented by The Theater Project. Thanks to the sponsorship of BCB Bank and the NJ Theatre Alliance's Stages Festival, this event is free.

LOVE LETTERS is a tender, tragi-comic examination of the shared nostalgia, missed opportunities, and deep closeness of Andrew and Melissa, two life-long friends. While spanning five decades and numerous locations, it is staged simply, with two actors letting their words describe a world of emotion. Appropriately, LOVE LETTERS is being performed by life-long friends Gary Glor and Margaret Massman, working together again for the first time in 20 years. Glor is a resident of Union, but Massman will visit Union for one week to rehearse and perform LOVE LETTERS. Both actors are originally from Buffalo, New York, hometown of A.R. Gurney.

LOVE LETTERS Is part of a series of POP UP Theater events designed to bring foot traffic to Union Center. The Theater Project has added a directory of Union Center eateries to its web site to encourage audiences to explore the Center's many restaurants, all within easy reach of BCB Bank.

This event is also part if the NJ Theatre Alliance's Stages Festival, a month-long celebration of live theater offering free and discounted performances all around the state. Info on the Stages Festival can be found at njtheatrealliance.org/stages-festival.

Tickets are free, but seating is limited, so reservations are recommended: TheTheaterProject.org.

The Theater Project offers many programs, including classes for kids and showcases for new writers, in Essex and Union Counties, all on display at their web site.
