Operation Chillout's Vest Fest 2017 Comes to Vasa Park

OPERATION CHILLOUT has announced Vets Summer Fest 2017, its annual fundraiser and 6th outdoor concert and festival at Vasa Park in Hackettstown, New Jersey on Saturday, August 12th. The event will help fund OPERATION CHILLOUT's Rapid Response Team, the homeless veterans outreach program to care of homeless veterans in New Jersey. The event is also focused on raising awareness of the plight of thousands of homeless veterans living in New Jersey. In recent years homelessness among our military veterans continues to escalate. Their ranks have grown steadily and will continue to rise as our veterans return home from conflicts; fighting terrorism in the Middle East and around the world.

Vets Summer Fest 2017 has a wide variety of food and beverage options, family and children's activities, arts and crafts vendors, a vintage / classic car show and motorcycle run. The gates open for public admission at 11:00AM and there is no pre-determined fee. Rather, a FREE WILL DONATION will be accepted so give what you can afford. Car show admission of display vehicles begins at 8:00am. No outside alcohol, food or coolers will be allowed to be brought into the event. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Vets Summer Fest 2017 will feature musical performances by Jimbeau and the Retrocasters (Rock & Blues) at 11am ; B-Sides (Classic Rock) at 1pm; Atlanta Cafe (Blues/Country Rock) at 2pm; Todd Young and the Gringos (Original Rock & Covers) at 3pm; Big Bone Daddy (Rock & Blues) at 4pm; Triple Addiction (Original Rock) at 5pm; Stone the Planet (Classic Rock) at 6pm and and Johnny Woods and the Lonesome Pinetops (Americana and Country) at 7pm.

OPERATION CHILLOUT is an all-volunteer outreach dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness for veterans, men and women throughout New Jersey and parts of NE Pennsylvania and now very recently in Rhode Island. We particularly seek out veterans of our military services, many of whom, because of the traumas they endured in service to our nation, face acute Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and chronic illnesses of body, mind and spirit, and are represented among the highest percentage of the homeless in the USA. Our Rapid Response Rescue Team is directly responsible for saving the lives of many of our homeless heroes. The mission of the Rapid Response Team is to search for, find, shelter, feed, clothe and transport homeless veterans to essential required services such as VA Medical Center Emergency, Specialty Clinic and Mental Health Care as needed at the time of rescue.
