In an explosive production that critics call a "tap dance 'til the stage shakes celebration," the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre will present Gershwin's Tony Award-winning "Crazy For You" for 3 weekends beginning Friday, June 7 and continuing through Sunday, June 23. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm.
A tale of boy meets girl in the Wild West, "Crazy For You" centers on Bobby Child, the rich son of a banking family who is sent to foreclose a mortgage on a theatre in Deadrock, Arkansas. Bobby arrives in Deadrock where he meets and falls in love with Polly, the daughter of the theatre's owner. He then sets out to save the theatre and win Polly's heart. Packed with non-stop Gershwin hits, "Crazy For You" explodes with spectacular production numbers, including "Slap That Bass," "I Can't Be Bothered Now" and "I Got Rhythm." Bobby and Polly's romance is animated by Gershwin's best ballads - "Someone To Watch Over Me," "But Not For Me" and "They Can't Take That Away From Me."Videos
