BONNIE AND CLYDE, the amazing Frank Wildhorn musical is the final show of Ocean Professional Theatre Company's 2014 Summer Season from today, August 21st through August 28th. The play is directed by Steve Seiner, musical staging by Paula Sloan, with music direction by Jonathan Marro.
An enduring story of love, passion, murder, notoriety and misguided judgment, the legend of the ill fated Bonnie and Clyde has fascinated the world since achieving folk hero status in the Depression. Movies, stories, books, magazine articles and more movies have been made time and time again to retell his story of great love, adventure and the unfortunate inevitable violent end.
BONNIE AND CLYDE played a Broadway run in 2011, with music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black and a book by Ivan Menchell opening on Dec. 1. The show, which featured Southern Ocean County's very own Kelsey Fowler as a young Bonnie, was very popular with audiences and, earned two Tony nominations, one for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical and the other for Best Original Score, was nominated for 3 Outer Critic and 5 Drama Desk Award nominations, including Outstanding Musical. With a wonderful country pop score featuring songs like Dyin' Ain't So Bad, You Love Who You Love, When I Drive, This World Will Remember Me, How 'Bout a Dance and God's Arms are Always Open, audiences were treated to an intriguing story told through a powerful, soaring score.Videos
