CHICAGO, the amazing Tony Award-winning musical and longest running American Musical in Broadway history continues OPTC's 2014 Season from July 24th - August 2nd. The play is directed and choreographed by Karen Babcock, with music direction by Jonathan Marro.

Winner of Six 1997 Tony Awards Including Best Musical Revival. Still running in on Broadway, CHICAGO has everything that makes Broadway great: a universal tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz; one show-stopping song after another; and the most astonishing dancing you've ever seen. CHICAGO has been honored with 6 Tony Awards®, 2 Olivier Awards®, a Grammy® and a recent errific movie featuring Renee Zellweiger, Catherine Zeta Jones and Richard Gere.

It's also no surprise that CHICAGO has wowed audiences all around the world, from Mexico City to Moscow, from São Paulo to South Africa and now BARNEGAT, NJ. With such famous songs like Razzle Dazzle, All the Jazz and show stopping dance numbers in the style of the great Bob Fosse this is not to be missed.

Directed and Choreographed by Karen Babcock (Director/Choreographer) has roots as a performer on Broadway, the West End, Japan, and Austria as well as touring the United States extensively. She has been a member of Actors Equity Association since 1980 and a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1982. Karen branched into directing and choreographing and has done so since 2001. She has many regional, international and academic credits, both musicals and straight plays, several of which have won awards. Chicago is the third show Karen has put together for the Ocean Professional Theatre Company in addition to Showtune and Gypsy. Local audiences may have also seen her work in Atlantic City at the Trump Plaza, where she choreographed Anything Goes. Karen holds an MFA in directing from Mason Gross School of the Arts/Rutgers and a BFA in drama (musical theatre option) from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ian Connor, Madeline Chandler, Christopher Hansell, Melissa Mangold, Megan Peterson, Jake Sokoloff, Peter Surace, Jacob Vacanti, David Discenza, Kelly Gleason.
