Having previously announced its new production of Ayad Akhtar's 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced - directed by Artistic Director Matt Okin, produced by Huey Esquire and Black Box Studios, and featuring Misty Easler, Katie Housley, Alex Hughes, Hemang Sharma, and Laurence Wallace - Black Box Studios and Black Box Performing Arts Center are proud to announce that not only will most performances of Disgraced be followed by a talkback among cast, creative team, and the audience, but several noted thought leaders have committed to leading talkbacks.
On Thursday, July 6, actor, poet, and comedian Neil Fleischmann will get things started, leading the Opening Night talkback. Famed immigration attorney and law professor Michael J. Wildes will lead the talkback following the Thursday, July 13 performance. "America's Rabbi" Shmuley Boteach, whom The Washington Post and Newsweek call "the most famous Rabbi in America," leads the talkback following the Sunday, July 16 7:30 performance, which promises to be a rousing and provocative conversation. Actor and instructor Steven Sirbu will lead the Thursday, July 20 talkback. Finally, creative artist and Teaneck International Film Festival Executive Director Jeremy Lentz leads the post-performance chat following the closing performance on Sunday, July 23 at 7:30 PM.
Disgraced will play fifteen performances over three weekends, from Thursday, July 6 through Sunday, July 23 at Black Box Studios' new home, Teaneck's Black Box Performing Arts Center (200 Walraven Drive (just off Palisade Ave., GPS: 290 Walraven Drive), Teaneck, NJ 07666.
