NJPAC Presents SHAAN Bollywood's Most Popular, Versatile Vocalist Plus Town Hall Meeting  Image

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening of romantic, high-energy music with Shaan - the "Golden Voice of India" and one of Bollywood's most popular, versatile vocalist on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 8:00 PM.

As part of a ten-city tour, American Pain Association (APA) will hold a "Turn the Tide" Town Hall meeting and lecture led by Dr. Sanjay Gupta and other medical professionals taking place prior t Shaan's performance in the Chase Room at 7PM. This will be a discussion that will include strategies and tools for parents and families protecting kids and youth from the national drug epidemic affecting many families.

Shaan - aka Shantanu Mukherjee - is one of the most in-demand playback singers in the Bollywood industry, active in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Telugu and Kannada films. Among the most popular films that have featured his vocals are Fanaa, Dus, Saawariya, Jhankaar Beats and Kya Dil Ne Kahan. He is also widely known as a television host, on popular programs like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs, and The Voice: India.

In addition to his work on television and the big screen, Shaan has released a series of successful solo albums of his own compositions, among them Loveology, Tanha Dil, Aksar and Tishnagi. His song "Shuruaat" was made into a music video to promote the hit film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. In recent years, he has also branched out into other musical genres, lending his expert vocals to pop, jazz, hip hop, rock and more.
