"Bad Parents," a feature film starring the comedic talents of Janeane Garofalo, Christopher Titus, Cheri Oteri, Michael Boatman, Ben Bailey and Kristen Johnston will have its red carpet world premiere on October 3rd at the Bellevue Theater in Montclair, NJ, in association with the Montclair Film Festival. Janeane Garofalo, who grew up in Madison, NJ and Morristown resident and Emmy award winning comedian Ben Bailey will walk the red carpet as well as writer/director/producer and New Jersey resident Caytha Jentis. Additional guests will be announced as the event approaches.

“Bad Parents,” based on Jentis’ award-winning stage play “It’s All About the Kids,” is a snarky satirical comedy about sports parents behaving badly inspired by Jentis’ experiences when her daughter played club soccer. Garofalo plays Kathy, a suburban every-mom who finds herself sucked through the rabbit hole into the cultish world of soccer obsessed hyper-competitive helicopter parents after her daughter makes the under eight year old club soccer “A Team.”

After attending the opening night of the inaugural Montclair Film Festival in May, Jentis was so impressed with the festival that she hoped and was determined to have her latest film be part of it. “As a proud New Jersey film-maker, this was the place to premiere “Bad Parents” -- it was shot entirely in northern New Jersey. I am honored that the festival is hosting this screening on our behalf.”

The Montclair Film Festival premiere kicks off “Bad Parents Month” and the “Soccer Mom Mini-Van Road Tour.” Following the MFF premiere, “Bad Parents” will play at multiple festivals throughout the month of October before being released nationally in March on television and DVD.
