Just in time for Halloween, NENAproductions Theater Projects opens its 14th Season as the resident theater company of Ocean Grove with Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show LIVE. On stage at the Jersey Shore Arts Center at the corner of Main Street and Main Avenue, at the entrance of Ocean Grove, Rocky Horror, everyone's favorite participation musical will be presented Fridays and Saturdays, October 14 through October 22 at 8 PM and Sunday, October 23 at 3 PM. All Seats are $25.
NENAproductions produced Rocky Horror as their first show when the company started fourteen years ago at the Fastlane in Asbury Park. Producers Nick Montesano, Arnold Teixeira, and JefF Brown are bringing the show back with a rock orchestra live on stage with the cast, resplendent with feather boas, shiny high heels, and participation bags to be sold at each performance. Audience members are encouraged to participate in call outs, dancing the Time Warp and dressing for the show.
Jason B. Schmidt appears as sweet transvestite, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Schmidt, of Neptune, is a NYC based actor, Bea Arthur aficionado, voice over talent and half of the musical comedy sensation The Parodivas! In addition to his extensive Off-Broadway, Off-Off and Regional credits, Jason B. has also traveled the US starring in numerous productions. Schmidt's most recent appearance in Asbury Park was as Bea Arthur in Astral Dame at McLoone's Supper Club.
Neal Zucker makes his NENA debut as Rocky Horror, Frank's creation. The cast is rounded out by Amanda Munice as Janet, Andrew Young as Brad, Jessica Berger Vitalo as Magenta, Cody Banks as Riff Raff, Carly Cosentino as Columbia, Jennifer Nelson as Eddie, Arnold Teixeira as Dr. Scott, and Bill Reinhardt as The Narrator. Aurora Brunette, Matthew Yee, Lauren VxxX, and Samantha xxXX appear as The Phantoms.
The productions is directed and designed by Nick Montesano with musical direction by JefF Brown and choreography by Anthony Giorgio.
