The Mayo Performing Arts Center will stage its first original production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2. Tickets are $15.

The performance will feature over 65 local youth performers from the Morris County area. The performance is directed by MPAC Education Director Cathy Roy.

Justin Anthony Long will portray the role of Joseph. The role of the narrator will be shared by Montana Byrne, Amanda Fletcher and Rachel Levy. Jacon/Pharoah will be played by Joey Walsh. A list of the performers by town is attached.

"The timing is perfect to bring our first fully produced production to life on our Main Stage!" said Cathy Roy, Education Director, Mayo Performing Arts Center and director of the production. "I am thrilled with the way this production is coming together. We have a top-notch cast and a professional production team all working together to bring this fabulous show to life! I know the audiences will be thrilled with the music, staging, high quality sets, costumes and lighting! To top it off, it's a really great story and is perfect for all ages!"

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical with lyrics by Tim Rice. The story is based on the "coat of many colors" story of Joseph from the Bible's Book of Genesis. Its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music have resulted in numerous productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; according to the Really Useful Group, by 2008 more than 20,000 schools and amateur theatre groups had successfully put on productions.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization, presents a wide range of programs that entertain, enrich and educate the diverse population of the region and enhance the economic vitality of Northern New Jersey. The 2012-2013 season is made possible in part by a grant from the Geraldine R.
