Mayo Center to Feature PINKALICIOUS, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY and Jim Brickman, 2/9-15

The Mayo Performing Arts Center is set to feature Pinkalicious, Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking, and Jim Brickman - The Love Tour February 2, 14, and 15.

In Pinkalicious, a girl finds herself in a colorful predicament after her indulgence in too many pink sweets causes a severe case of Pinkititis. The show will run on Sunday, February 9 at 11am, 1:30pm, and 4pm and is appropriate for audiences ages 4-12. Tickets are $12-15.

Forbidden Broadway, the fall-down funny musical roast of Broadway that has picked up 9 Drama Desk Awards, a Special Tony, an Obie, a Lucille Lortel and Drama League Award, is back at last with a blast, and not a moment too soon. This New York sensation is returning with an all-new, fresh view of the highs and lows of recent seasons including Porgy and Bess, Anything Goes, Follies, Spiderman, Book of Mormon, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Once, and Death of a Salesman (shows spoofed are always changing), and features outrageous costumes, hilarious rewrites of the songs you know, and dead-on impressions by an stellar cast! Whether you're a seasoned theatregoer or new to Broadway, Forbidden Broadway is your one-stop ticket to non-stop laughs. The show will run on Friday, February 14 at 8pm. Tickets are $29-49.

Music lovers will experience the sounds of award-winning hit-maker, pianist and recording artist Jim Brickman as he brings one of the most entertaining and romantic concert events of the year to Morristown. Brickman's engaging stage presence seamlessly blends mood and music to touch the heart in a special way, letting fan's imaginations take them wherever they want to go. With dazzling solo piano and star-studded vocal collaborations, Brickman will wow audience members with his hits including "Valentine," "If You Believe," "Love of My Life" and more. The Love Tour strikes the perfect balance between musical intimacy, compelling storytelling and audience interaction.

Jim Brickman amassed 27 Top 40 singles on the adult contemporary charts, including 14 Top 10 smashes. His collaboration with country songstress Martina McBride, "Valentine," scored a number 1 hit on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart and a top 10 country hit in 1998. Other Brickman staples include "Peace" and "The Gift," both with Collin Raye, "Simple Things" with Rebecca Lynn Howard, "Never Alone" with Lady Antebellum, and "Love of My Life" with Michael W. Smith.

Throughout his long career, Brickman has also shared his artistry with luminaries such as Kenny Loggins, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert, Michael Bolton, Donny Osmond, Richie McDonald (country's Lonestar), smooth jazz sax star Dave Koz, Olivia Newton-John, Wayne Brady, Blind Boys of Alabama, Broadway's Jane Krakowski and more. Along the way he's been rewarded for his melodically sublime style with two Grammy Award nominations, a couple of SESAC "Songwriter of the Year" Awards, a Canadian Country Music Award and a Dove Award presented by the Gospel Music Association. He's also the author of two best-selling books, 2001's Simple Things and 2005's Love Notes, co-written with Cindy Pearlman.

A native of Cleveland, Brickman began playing piano at the age of five and studied music at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music where he was honored with a scholarship in his name in 2011. Founding his own advertising music company in 1980, Brickman began writing commercial jingles for such advertisers as McDonald's, Pontiac and Kellogg's.

Brickman has had the good fortune of sharing his music through some of his biggest partners like Celestial Seasonings, John Q Hammons Hotels and Resorts, Audio-Technica, Whole Foods and American Greetings, just to name a few. Also lending his hand to many charitable foundations, Brickman currently works with Autism Speaks and the Horatio Alger Association. Jim Brickman - The Love Tour will run on Saturday, February 15 at 8pm. Tickets are $49-69.
