Celebrate the holidays with one of pop music's iconic voices when Darlene Love performs at Mayo Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 8 pm. Tickets are $59-39.

Through the years, Darlene Love has captivated audiences all over the world with her sensational performances and her warm and gracious stage presence. It is no wonder that The New York Times declared that her "thunderbolt voice is as embedded in the history of rock and roll as Eric Clapton's guitar or Bob Dylan's lyrics."

Since the early sixties, as part of Phil Spector's wall of sound hit factory, Darlene Love has done it all.from major films like the highly successful Lethal Weapon series to Broadway hits like Hairspray and Grease. She even starred as herself in Leader Of The Pack, often credited as Broadway's first "jukebox musical."

Darlene's background vocals for The Blossoms, The Crystals, The Righteous Brothers, Elvis Presley, to name but a few, set the stage for her emergence as a star in her own right. Her Billboard hits include: "He's A Rebel," "The Boy I'm Gonna Marry," "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Wait 'Til My Bobby Gets Home," "He's Sure the Boy I Love" and #1 holiday classic Christmas Baby Please Come Home, performed annually with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Symphony Orchestra on The Late Show With David Letterman.

In 2011, she was inducted her into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. During the celebration, she and Bette Midler enjoyed performing "He's A Rebel" together. Love also sang "He's A Fine, Fine Boy" with another distinguished fan, Bruce Springsteen.

Darlene has appeared on many television programs, running the gamut from her weekly appearances on Shindig to her recent guest spot on the PBS special entitled Women Who Rock. She has mostly recently been featured in the acclaimed documentary 20 Feet from Stardom, about backup singers.

Rolling Stone Magazine has proclaimed Darlene Love to be "one of the greatest singers of all time" and that certainly rings true, but perhaps Paul Shafer says it even more concisely."Darlene Love is Rock N' Roll!"
