The Gallery at Mercer County Community College, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, invites area photographers to submit work for the 2009 Mercer County Photographers exhibit. Jurying will take place Saturday, Aug. 29. Dates for the show are Sept. 8 through Oct. 8. The Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission is the sponsor of this biennial exhibit.
Artists working in all photographic media/processes who are 18 or older and live, work or attend school in Mercer County, NJ, are eligible to submit up to three photographs for consideration. Work must have been completed within the past two years. Photographers should drop off their work at the MCCC Gallery between 9:30 a.m. and noon on Aug. 29. Work that is not accepted in the show should be picked up between 3:30 and 5 p.m. the same day.
The juror for the show is award-winning photographer/printmaker Edward Fausty (BFA, Cooper Union; MFA, Yale University). This recent visiting artist at Princeton University is known for both his photograph series (Camera Vision; A Fragile Utopia) and his experimental ink on paper works and collotypes. The recipient of a NEA Survey Grant in Photography, Fausty exhibits widely and has works in many collections including the George Eastman House, the U.S. Library of Congress, and Yale University.
The Gallery is under the direction of curator Tricia Fagan and is located on the second floor of the Communications Building on Mercer's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.
