MACBETH Slashes Into Hudson Theatre Works

Hudson Theatre Works presents Shakespeare's Macbeth.

The production, to be directed by Artistic Director Frank Licato features Kevin Cristaldi and Daniela Mastropietro as the Scottish couple..

Performed in the company's new raw space at the Theatre at the Woodrow Wilson School, 80 Hauxhurst Ave, Weehawken, NJ, right near the Weehawken Library, the so-called "Scottish Play" will run October 12 - October 29, 2017. It will preview October 12 and run Thursdays thru Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm. Opening night is Saturday, October 14th.

In keeping with Hudson Theatre Works commitment to low ticket prices, all tickets are $20 and can be purchased thru Brown Paper Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com or 1-800-836-3008. There are discount tickets of $15 for Seniors, Veterans, Weehawken residents (with id), and groups of 10 or more.

Hudson Theatre Works, is interested in theatre that is edgy, actor driven and intimate. It produces plays that mirror this aesthetic. This includes its PlayWorks series of new play readings and its company workshop The Forge. Its production of A Steady Rain, was named one of the top 10 shows in New Jersey in 2016.

Theatre on the Edge.Macbeth is Shakespeare's only thriller. It is a psychologically complex drama of power, love, ambition and loss. When three mysterious figures prophesy that Macbeth will be crowned king of Scotland, the noble warrior and his wife quickly begin a bloody rise to power. Part cautionary tale, part magical horror story, Macbeth remains one of Shakespeare's most compelling plays.

Macbeth features Kevin Cristaldi as Macbeth (Off-Broadway A Midsummer Night's Dream (Masterworks, NYT Critic's Pick), A Dish for the Gods (Lion Theatre), The Dirty Talk (Center Stage, NYT Critic's Pick), and Message to Michael (Rattlestick). Regional credits include To Kill a Mockingbird (Cincinnati Playhouse), When I Come to Die (Kansas City Rep), The Exonerated (Florida Studio Theatre), Bash (Hudson Theatre Works), Freud's Last Session (Schoolhouse Theatre), The Strip (Evidence Room, LA), Eddie Legs (Lillian Theatre, LA Weekly Award nom. Best Supp't Actor), The Miser and All's Well that Ends Well (Hartford Stage), The Importance of Being Earnest (Two Rivers), Hamlet (The Arden, Philadelphia), and The Last Station at Vermont Stage. On television, he has appeared in Numbers, Medium, The Unit, Gilmore Girls, Criminal Minds, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And Daniela Mastropietro aa Lady Macbeth (Lucia in NJ Rep's For Worse, Masha in Chekhov's Three Sisters for Columbia University, Ariel Spirit in Shakespeare's The Tempest for Classic Stage Young Company, and Annette in God of Carnage at The Blue Room in Chico, CA. On television, she has appeared on ID Network, The Sopranos and MTV. She can be seen in the films August In The City, Phone Calls (Tribeca Film Festival Selection 2017); '79 Parts and Behind The Mirror.
