Luna Stage is proud to announce its 25th anniversary season. The 2017-2018 season will include a new play, a world premiere of a new musical, and the revival of a Luna classic about DR. Martin Luther King, Jr?.

The 2017- 2018 season line-up includes Paradise, a new play by Laura Maria Censabella with Grant Shaud scheduled to star; the world premiere of Razorhurst, a new musical by Andy Peterson and Kate Mulley; and a revival of Luna's critically-acclaimed signature piece The Man in Room 306 by Craig Alan Edwards.

Season Passes are now on sale and can be purchased at lunastage.org, or at the box office Tuesday-Friday 10am-3pm (973-395-5551). Individual tickets will go on sale this summer.

Paradise by Laura Maria Censabella (November 2nd-19th, 2017) - a co-production with Passage Theatre with Grant Shaud, best known for his iconic role on TV's Murphy Brown, scheduled to star.

Paradise tells the story of a Muslim-American teenage girl in the Bronx and her mysterious high school biology teacher. As they work together to investigate adolescent romantic love, an unlikely partnership is formed. But clashes arise out of their conflicts over religion, science, and mentorship, and both the teacher's and student's lives are transformed forever.

Razorhurst by Andy Peterson and Kate Mulley (February 1st - March 4th, 2018) - a new musical commissioned by Luna Stage. Razorhurst is produced with the generous support of The Bob Cole Family Fund.

In the 1920's, the streets of Sydney ran with blood as a pair of criminal empires went to war. Perhaps what is most surprising about the gang wars was that the leaders of the rival empires were both women. Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh spent years battling for control of booze, drugs and prostitution on the streets of Sydney. This new musical traces their reign as queens of their domains, and asks if they were truly evil ladies, or just shrewd business women ahead of their time.

The Man in Room 306 by Craig Alan Edwards (April 5th - May 6th, 2018) - a revival of Luna's critically-acclaimed signature piece in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of DR. Martin Luther King Jr. The production will star Luna favorite Jamil A. C. Mangan, most recently seen at Luna in "Master Harold"....and the boys. The Man in Room 306 is produced with the generous support of Bonnie and Michael Carter and Rita and Terry Woodard.

A fictional account of the last night in the life of DR. Martin Luther King, Jr. The story unfolds on the rainy, evening of April 3, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, in the declining years of the Civil Rights Movement. The stakes couldn't be higher; the viability of nonviolence in the civil rights struggle and Dr. King's credibility as its symbolic leader are in jeopardy. It is under these trying circumstances that Dr. King finds himself alone in Room 306, struggling with his past, anxious about his future, and coming to terms with his life. The Man in Room 306 is an intimate, human portrait of Dr. King, a fictional glimpse into the private moments of history, and into the passions and fears of an incredible man during an extraordinary time.
