"Songs from The 88" is part of a longer piece The 88 about ten tiny siblings who board the 88 bus from East Orange to NYC, sometimes together, often alone, but always accompanied by their grandmother, Marcella. She is their ticket to The Great White Way and why each one learned they belong. This presentation is a fundraiser for the artists to help continue work on the piece, a homage to the brothers' grandmother, Marcella Victoria Quarles. Co-authored by Reg E Gaines, a two-time Tony Award-nominated playwright, Grammy Award-nominated lyricist, has published four books of poetry, is editor of the 2015 poetry anthology A Year In Ink, and scored the PBS documentary, Senior Year and his brother Calvin Gaines is an award-winning musician and producer who has worked with such artists as Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, The Temptations, and Destiny's Child with musical direction by Mark Wilson

About Luna Stage
Luna Stage was founded in 1992 by Jane Mandel and became a professional theatre in 1995. For its first 18 years, the company made its home in Montclair, New Jersey, first in a small space on Walnut Street and then in a larger facility on Bloomfield Avenue.
To that end, in the fall of 2010, Luna Stage relocated to West Orange to become an anchor organization in the dynamic movement of revitalization and community engagement aimed at establishing the Valley Arts District of Orange and West Orange as a hub for entertainment and culture in the region.
