NiCori Studios and Productions in association with the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center announces a new installment of the monthly concert series, Music at the Mansion, on Sunday, July 27, at 3pm. Performers include Liz McKendry, Adam Shapiro and Deborah Tranelli. The featured performer in the "Young Musician Moment" will be members of Gas Lamp of Performing Arts cast of Drowsy Chaperone.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Liz McKendry got her start in Las Vegas performing in Donn Arden's Jubilee! before landing a spot in the Broadway musical The Producers. After a wonderful run, Liz was also cast in the film adaptation of the show. Since then, she has collected a wide range of credits in off-Broadway and regional theater and television, including performances in Sleep No More and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum at The Paper Mill Playhouse. She was also featured in The Young & The Restless and Mad Fashion on Bravo.
Liz recently performed her solo cabaret show, From Buffalo to Broadway at Hallwalls in Buffalo, NY and as part of Cape May Stage's acclaimed Second Stage Series in Cape May, NJ. Other credits include, the role of Gretchen in Boeing, Boeing at Cape May Stage, Bright Stars of Broadway at Town Hall, Cabaret Cares, Broadway On 22nd Street, The 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition at The Minskoff Theatre, The New York Jazz Choreography Project featuring works by Luigi & Francis J. Roach and Broadway Backwards at The Palace Theatre. Liz will be singing with Rick Knight's vocal quartet Quarter to Four in the Out by Ten Concert Series at Spectrum NYC Thursday, July 24th at 7:30pm. Future projects include Up In A Balloon, a new play written and directed by Karen Patricia McDonald, where Liz will star as Fay Templeton.
Deborah Tranelli has had a long and busy career as an actress, singer, dancer and in commercials. Best known to television audiences for her eleven season portrayal of Phyllis on the iconic series, Dallas, she has also appeared on numerous other series' as well. Her professional theatre career began in Chicago after graduating from Northwestern University, and since coming to NYC she has performed in over 50 productions Off-Broadway and regionally.
Deborah has toured the country in concert and has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lyrics & Lyricists and with the Jacksonville and Greenville Symphonies. She is a multiple winner of the Backstage Bistro Award including Outstanding Achievement for her solo CD "A Lot of Livin'.
"Music at the Mansion" is a 2013 MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) award nominated series showcasing talented performers from NYC and NJ. The series is hosted by NYC Cabaret singer and Bloomfield resident Corinna Sowers-Adler and will feature Deborah Martin on piano. This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. Series hostess, Corinna Sowers-Adler, has been nominated as "Best Host of a Variety Show" and "Best Female Vocalist" for the 2012 Broadway World Cabaret Awards. Sowers-Adler was a featured soloist at the 24th Annual New York Cabaret Convention held in the Rose Theater of Jazz at Lincoln Center this past October. She recently made her solo debut at BROADWAY's Supper Club - 54 BELOW. Corinna has also toured and performed her solo cabaret shows Stories, By Request, Songs From the Heart and Let Me Sing and I'm Happy at venues in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Tickets for "Music at the Mansion" are $10 per person and are available at the door. Seating begins at 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
