Calling all storytellers and anyone interested in the art of storytelling!

Join Larry Johnson for a remarkable, one-of-a-kind storytelling performance and workshop focusing on how to develop personal stories and infuse folk and literary tales with authentic voice. Larry will share from his repertoire of stories, including one folktale which captures his personal "voice," one personal experience story, and one story that focuses on his heavy, and highly unique, use of music, particularly that of "found instruments" -- which might otherwise be languishing in a landfill!

Larry Johnson, a storyteller, educator, and Vietnam-era veteran from Minnesota, uses storytelling to make the world a better place through environmental education, as well as efforts to support veterans and advocate for the prevention of unnecessary warfare.

A lifetime member of the National Storytellers League, Larry introduced World Storytelling Day to the Unite States, used a storytelling model to start the first participatory, pediatric patient TV channel in the country, and has spent over 20 years as a Minneapolis schools specialist -- teaching storytelling, video, and environment. In March of this year, Larry led a workshop at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum and currently facilitates school storytelling residencies and a program, using storytelling and humor, to help adults with mental illness to live better.

Bring your questions, as well as your ability to listen intensely and think deeply about your own storytelling or desire to use it. Larry will be happy to answer any questions.
