Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will open a new Healing Arts Gallery this month in collaboration with Atlantic Health System's Healing Arts Program. This professional company will house the gallery in its newly renovated lobby at the Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, NJ.

Both Dreamcatcher and the Healing Arts Program at Atlantic Health System acknowledge that arts are an essential component to health, healing and well-being. Our goal is to give artists associated with the Healing Arts Program another venue for their work and to provide a connection between the visual and performing arts in the community we serve. The gallery will serve as a gathering place for artists and patrons to connect and to experience the wellbeing arts provide.Exhibits will be curated around the theme of each of three mainstage productions, which will allow both the visual and the performing art to resonate in a more complex way with audiences from the community.

The inaugural exhibit will open in conjunction with the first production of the Dreamcatcher season, Every Brilliant Thing, on September 22. This comedy, which deals with the impact of a mother's mental illness on her now-adult son, expresses how the beauty and brilliance of life can be found in the most mundane of places. The works selected for this exhibit communicate the artists' personal experiences and reflections on the subject, and will hang until the close of the production on October 8. The exhibit may be viewed in the hour prior to curtain and by appointment by calling 908-514-9654.

The theatre at Oakes Center is wheelchair accessible, and such access services as large print scripts, assistive listening devices, and audio description will be available by prior arrangement throughout the season. Performances will be held at Oakes Center, 120 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901.
