Garden State Players plans to Rock the Bayshore tonight, Dec. 8 in a concert to benefit the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and RAINE Foundation. The concert, which will be held in Raritan High School, 419 Middle Road, Hazlet, at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.), will feature a variety of local talent covering songs from various artists including Adele, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Christina Aguilera, Janis Joplin, Carrie Underwood, Mama's and the Papa's, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Fun and Alicia Keys. Tickets are $18/ person and may be purchased online at http://www.gardenstateplayers.org/. Tickets for Rock the Bayshore: The Relief Concert will also be available at the door an hour before the show.
The concert will feature Brittany Boardwick (Keyport), Trevor Cahill (Keyport), Gabriella Concepcion (Hazlet), Kyle Conway (Keyport), Lelise DeMieri (Keyport), Erica Kostyz (Wanamassa), Kevin McGee (Keansburg), Melisa Pleconis (Belmar), Dan Puma (Red Bank), Ellie Rodriguez (Old Bridge), Frank Slater (Keyport), Lizzie Stefanic (Middletown), Becky Stromberg (Matawan), Joe Thompson (Asbury Park) and Dawson Zembricki (Hazlet). Production supervisors are Dan Puma (Red Bank) , Anne Chretien Kaufman (Middletown), Lauren Matthews Raad (Hazlet) and Chuck Cutaia (Asbury Park).
Thanks to a generous donation from the Keyport IHOP and Belly Flop Café, which are sponsoring the administrative costs, as well as the Hazlet School District, 100 percent of ticket sales will be donated to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. The evening of the event, donations of new toys, gift cards and new clothing will be collected to benefit RAINE's Holiday Giving Program.
