No Strings Theatre Company presents "Greater Tuna" an entertaining and engaging comedy by Jaston Williams, Ed Howard, and Joe Sears, directed by NSTC's Artistic Director, Ceil Herman. "Greater Tuna" is now performing in Deming NM at the Voiers Park Theatre in a beautiful outdoor space. The final performance is 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29.

The day in Tuna, the third smallest town in Texas begins , as usual, with Thurston Wheelis (Algernon d'Ammassa) and Arles Struvie (David Rayes) at the microphones of Radio OKKK, broadcasting at a big 275 watts, at least when then remember to turn the transmitter on! Tuna's citizens continue to parade across the stage in all their outrageous and irreverent glory, commenting on life, politics, relationships, and what makes them (and sometimes us) tick.

All the characters are played by the two actors, who are completely ready for the challenge. The men, women, and animals who live in Tuna are fully detailed and comic. Kind-hearted Petey Fisk works at the Humane Society and wants to save all animals including ducks and fish. Didi Snaveley owns Didi's Used Guns and is plagued by her husband RR who drinks too much and sees UFOs that look like giant chalupas without the guacamole. Phinas Blye is the perpetual losing candidate for city council and wants to tax prisoners because "It would be easy, 'cause everyone knows where they are." Of course, a day isn't complete without the high school football coach who explains why his team lost 48-0 "We lost mainly because we couldn't score."

Algernon D' Ammassa has been seen at the Black Box Theatre in "Crime and Punishment," "The 39 Steps" and "Private Fears in Public Places", and recently directed NSTC's production of "Terra Nova" David Reyes has been seen at the Black Box Theatre in "The 39 Steps," "The Sisters Rosensweig" and "Terra Nova." Peter Herman is the Scenic and Lighting Designer, Gabriele and Lara Teich designed the many costumes used in the production, Karen Ross in Stage Manager, Erin Williams is Assistant Stage Manager, and Danny Wade is the Light and Sound Board operator.

Tickets for the Deming performances are $10.00.
