Playwrights Theatre announces the return of the popular roundtable reading series FORUM: Let's Discuss. Staged readings of 14 innovative new plays by some of the country's best writers with intimate discussions between author and audience following each performance. The performances will take place at 7pm each evening on November 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21 and December 16 at Playwrights Theatre, 33 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Patrons can attend one reading for $10 or purchase a FORUM PASS to the entire festival for $25. Playwrights Theatre's season subscribers receive a FORUM PASS as a free added bonus. Reservations can be made online at www.ptnj.org or call (973) 514-1787 X10.
Featuring the work of some of the nation's best writers, including David Wiltse, author of The Good German and Lee Blessing, author of A Walk In The Woods, which played on Broadway and London's West End, FORUM brings playwrights, actors and audience members together to enjoy the creative process of bringing a play to life. Visit Playwrights Theatre's website www.ptnj.org for additional pre-show and post-show information.
"This annual event brings some of the best work being written in the theatre, including writers of national renown who live in New Jersey," said John Pietrowski, Artistic Director. "Audiences at FORUM have the added advantage of hearing professional actors, some rather well known, reading these plays and watching them come to life right off the page."
Among the scheduled performers are Len Cariou (Tony-winner, original Sweeney Todd, Little Night Music) who will play George Orwell in Joe Sutton's Not What You Think. Real life husband and wife, Jay O. Sanders (John Goodman's biker buddy "Ziggy" on Roseanne) and Maryann Plunkett (Tony-winner, Me and My Girl) will play a husband and wife in David Wiltse's new murder comedy Murder, Too.
