Elisabeth Von Trapp to Perform at BergenPAC, 12/10

The eclectic styling of Elisabeth Von Trapp of the Sound of Music's Von Trapp Singers and the Empire Brass Quintet will be performing live at the Bergen Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 10th at 8P.M.

Born into a family of musicians and performers, Elisabeth Von Trap had no trouble adjusting to such a musically acclimated lifestyle. Elisabeth is the granddaughter of the legendary Maria and Baron von Trapp, whose story inspired The Sound of Music. At the age of eight, she began taking piano lessons, and by the age of sixteen she was playing guitar and traveling New England performing at weddings, gospel meetings and town halls with her siblings.

Elisabeth created her own ethereal and earthy, delicate and powerful artistic style that holds a unique place in the music industry. Critics have called her voice ..." hauntingly clear " " joyfully expressive " and " simply beautiful." The elegant arrangements of her guitar and renowned cellist and longtime musical colleague, Erich Kory, only ameliorate her performances above the maximum capacity of musical yet intellectual genius.

Elisabeth has released five self produced albums, and has had performances across the United States, Austria and Russia. Her music has been featured on National Public Radio, BBC-Radio, Japanese National Radio and CNN Spanish Radio. Audiences may also have seen her on television on CBS's Eye on People, ABC's Good Morning America and BBC-TV. More recently in late 2010, Elisabeth has helped local young vocalists find their own sound of music at the Midland Center for the Arts in Michigan. Elisabeth's breath taking performance LIVE at the bergenPAC will leave the entire audience in awe.
