Eagle Theatre Selected for Facebook 24 Hour Live Global Event Celebration of International Women's Day

Facebook, Inc. has selected Eagle Theatre, South Jersey's only year-round professional Equity theatre, to be one of the official hosts of its #SheMeansBusiness 24 Hour Live event as part of International Women's Day on Wednesday, March 8th. The Eagle Theatre's is the only organization in New Jersey and one of only a select few in the world to participate. The theatre has been given the 5:30 PM EST, March 8th time slot for its live Facebook broadcast. Viewers can like their Facebook page and tune in to facebook.com/theeagletheatre to watch the live event.
Women Entrepreneurs on the LIVE panel discussion include: Chhaya Rowan, Board Member (Host), Eagle Theatre, Inc.; Linda Cashan, Owner, Casciano Coffee Bar & Sweetery/Kitchen 19; Meghan Leahy, Founder and Owner, Leahy Learning; and Norma Percodani, Owner, Chroma Beauty Bar.
Eagle Theatre Managing Director, Jim Donio said, "Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg are her team have worked diligently to be sure the message #SheMeansBusiness is heard loud and clear. We are honored to have been selected to help give a voice to this monumental global event."
This live event and its powerful themes run parallel with Eagle Theatre's upcoming new musical, john & jen, which opens this Friday, March 10th and runs through April 9th. Set against the background of a changing America between 1950 and 1990, this heartwarming musical focuses on a woman's journey to independence as a single mother, overcoming obstacles, and learning to cherish the love of her family, and the joy that can be found from within.
Chhaya Rowan, Board Member of Eagle Theatre, Inc., will host the panel discussion, "Art is an outlet in which expressing yourself is key. Facebook Live, along with our New Works Development Series, will provide a bright spotlight for the women of our community to share their empowering stories of success as a modern day business builder."
Eagle Theatre's 2017 New Works Development Series focuses exclusively on the unique voices of women writing for professional regional theatre today. The first New Works Play Reading is March 27th at 7:30 PM by Marlena Lustik, The Private Resource.
