Eagle Theatre is now accepting script submissions from local playwrights for their 2017 New Works Development Series. This season's series is dedicated to the unique voice of women writing for professional regional theatre today.

Each year, Eagle Theatre holds three, one night only, live play readings, as part of their New Works Development Series. The series nurtures local playwrights, while featuring professional actors, and offering patrons an intimate experience with original work in its infancy. Each reading features a fun and informative post-performance discussion with the Cast, Director, Playwright, and Audience. Readings are presented script in hand, which allows the playwright to make edits, and develop the work alongside a live audience.

Co-Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III states "The New Works Development Series is an interactive event, centered around sharing. We are passionate about providing local playwrights with the opportunity to present their work, as well as offering patrons the chance to provide their feedback. In many ways, it allows two unlikely parties to collaborate."

Local Playwright Kelly McCarthy's THE KING OF EAST JABIP received a New Works Development Series reading prior to it's official WORLD PREMIERE at Eagle Theatre.

Script submission should be sent to Co-Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III (twioncek@theeagletheatre.com), Subject: NWDS 2017. Scripts will be chosen by a select panel and announced in February 2017.
