Dustin Charles to Lead A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Skyline Theatre Company

Skyline Theatre Company continues its season with a new version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol performed in a one man tour de force Sunday December 16th, 2pm at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation, 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn. This performance is a part of Skyline's fund raising efforts for this season.

Dustin Charles returns to star as Dickens and all of his unforgettable characters from his 1843 novella. This new adaptation, by Greg Oliver Bodine, finds Dickens' on his 1867 American Reading Tour which is off to a rough start. Due to an inexplicable loss of his luggage, he regretfully announces that he will be unable to read from his beloved classic, A Christmas Carol. All is not lost however; Dickens delivers what he promised by performing from memory the magical story of Ebenezer Scrooge's journey from miserliness to redemption with warmth and humor. This one-man play is based on the condensed version Dickens himself used on his historic reading tours of the United States.

New York actor Dustin Charles returns to Skyline having starred as the Stage Manager in last season's production of Our Town, Paul in Barefoot in the Park and Hal in Proof. Most recently he played Richard in Shakespeare's Richard III for Identity Theatre in New York. He has also appeared in Dracula and The 39 Steps (New Stage Theatre) Dial M for Murder (John W. Engeman Theatre) Bedroom Farce and Unnecesary Farce for which he received a Syracuse Area Live Theatre Award nomination. His film career includes Forged starring Manny Perez, Gentleman Jack, and the award –winning indie "…the Making of…"
