Passage Theatre, Trenton's premiere professional theater company, will wrap up its month-long Solo Flights Festival with three performances of Bust, the hilarious and brutally frank one-woman show, written and performed by former Daily Show correspondent Lauren Weedman. Directed by Allison Narver, Bust runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 26 through March 28 at 8pmat the Mill Hill Playhouse, 205 East Front Street (at the corner of Montgomery Street) in historic downtown Trenton.
Bust is
Lauren Weedman's semi-autobiographical work built around her experiences as a volunteer advocate in a Southern California prison for women. With one foot in Hollywood and the other in jail, the former Daily Show correspondent careens wildly between the two worlds, taking us on a hilarious, poignant and completely unforgettable ride. Weedman made her television debut on Comedy Cen tral's Emmy Award-winning The Daily Show with
John Stewart in 2001. She has also appeared on NPR's national political satire show Re wind, Comedy Central's Reno 911 and in her other solo shows Homecoming, Rash and Wreckage. Weedman has been described as "a female Robin Wil liams" (LA Weekly) and "the funniest woman alive" (The Stranger, Seattle).
Solo Flight Festival will conclude on Sunday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m., with the return, by popular demand, of Nimbus Dance Works. The company is known for its innovative, multidisciplinary approach to dance, and promises another great evening of expressive, athletic and poignant dance.
