The folks at Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre center their craft around one charming phrase: Ensemble theatre with humor and heart. And that credo doesn't simply refer to light comedies designed to leave you with a cheery smile at the end of the night. Dreamcatcher's fare is deeply empathetic, as interested in making you feel as making you laugh. So it was with their glorious season opener Every Brilliant Thing, an intimate one-man exploration of depression, life, and the complexities in-between. Featuring a stunningly honest and raw portrayal from ensemble member Clark Carmichael and honed to perfection by Producing Artistic Director Laura Ekstrand, this little show with a big heart kicked off what promises to be a year of extra enriching theater in Summit, NJ. Here are the other Dreamcatcher offerings to keep on your radar in the coming months.
