DINO DAY Announced At The Morris Museum, 4/7  ImageTravel back with us to the time of the dinosaurs! The Morris Museum's annual Dino Day will be held on Saturday, April 7 from 11:00AM to 4:00PM.

During Dino Day, visitors to the Museum will have the opportunity to examine real fossils, meet a dinosaur expert, a participate in a fossil hunt by Field Station: Dinosaurs, create a paper dinosaur plus enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family. Visitors will also have the chance to meet a paleontology expert. Don't miss it!

All Dino Day activities are free with museum admission. For the Fossil hunt, we hope weather will permit it to be held outdoors however if conditions are not ideal another comparable activity will happen indoors! We hope that all of our young visitors can collect just one fossil egg during the hunt and appreciate everyone's understanding to ensure the best experience for all!

  • Talk with a dinosaur expert, Gary Manageri, NJ Paleontology Society (11:00AM -4:00PM)

  • Photo Opportunities - take your photo at a special Dino Day inspired station.

Field Station: Dinosaurs offers a family attraction that combines cutting-edge science with the creative minds of artists to create a one-of-kind experience that's thrilling, educational and fun just minutes from New York City. Over thirty life-sized, realistic dinosaurs come to life thanks to the brilliant engineering of the world's leading roboticists and the imagination of artists. The Morris Museum is pleased to be able to share their expertise on-site with our community during Dino Day.

About the Morris Museum

Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is an award-winning, community-based arts and cultural institution which serves the public through high-caliber exhibitions in the arts, sciences and humanities. The Museum also offers educational programs, family events, and is home to the Bickford Theatre and its wide range of performing arts offerings. Continuously serving the public since 1913, the Morris Museum has been designated a Major Arts Institution and has received the New Jersey State Council on the Arts' Citation of Excellence, among other awards. The first museum in New Jersey to be accredited, the Morris Museum was re-accredited in 2013 by the American Alliance of Museums.

The Morris Museum is a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active duty military personnel and their families, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.


Location and Hours

The Museum is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road (at the corner of Columbia Turnpike) in Morristown, NJ, and is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00pm. Admission to the Museum is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students and senior citizens. Admission is always free for Museum members.
