Cent. Stage Co. Announces 2018 Spring Education  ImageThis spring Centenary Stage Company offers a variety of educational programs for all ages. The TYRO Acting Program returns for ages 8 - 10 with the spring session running February 14 through April 18. The Young Performers Workshop spring session for ages 8 - 18 returns running February 10 through June 3. Centenary Stage Company and Centenary University's Theater / Dance Department is also holding their Conservatory of Dance from January 16 through May 7 and is appropriate for ages 14 and up.

Centenary Stage Company and Centenary University's Theater Department / Dance Department has opened registration for the spring Conservatory of Dance running January 16 through May 7. The Conservatory of Dance's 15 week session is dedicated to providing the community with affordable, high quality dance training on a collegiate level and is appropriate for ages 14 and up. Prior dance experience is required. Classes offered run the gamut of Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz and Hip - hop. All classes are taught by industry professionals. Tuition is $130 for one class, $195 for two classes and $275 for three classes. Young Performers Workshop students receive a 50% discount on all classes. Registration deadline is January 9, 2018. Led by Maria Brodeur, the TYRO Acting Program's mission is to introduce and develop arts in education with the community and designed specifically for young thespians ages 8 - 10 years of age. Using structured theatre activities which focus on expression, confidence building and fun, young thespians will learn acting games and demonstrate improvisations inspired by popular fairy and folk tales. The TYRO Program is led by Maria Brodeur, the CSC Education Director. Brodeur is a professional actress and arts educator with experience in children's theatre who holds a BA in Theatre and Education from Rutgers University. One TYRO parent recently exclaimed, "I saw so much growth in Christine this summer as a result of the wonderful handling given by all of you". Tuition for the spring session is $150.00 per student and the deadline for registration is January 31, 2018. The spring session runs from February 14 through April 18, 2018 and meets in the Little Theatre at 400 Jefferson Street Wednesdays from 4:30PM - 5:30PM.

Led by Broadway, television and film veteran, Michael Blevins the critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop returns for their Spring Session running February 10 through June 3 for ages 8 - 18. The Young Performers Workshop is a 15 week intensive musical theatre training program that has been designed to meet the needs of beginning, intermediate and advanced performers interested in working in the theatre. The hands - on program utilizes both classroom and "production process" to train young people in the theatre arts. Career - minded individuals can prepare for the rigors of a professional career, yet students not aiming for a professional career benefit from the program with its emphasis on discipline, self - worth and development of communication skills. The program includes the production of two major musicals. Although the program is open to all levels of experience, all new applicants must complete an interview process with program director Michael Blevins. To schedule an interview contact the CSC box office directly at (908) 979 - 0900. Tuition for the 15 - week program is $395 for the first child and $325 for second child, and $250 for third child. A $75 non - refundable registration fee applied toward the tuition is required. Registration deadline is February 1, 2018.
