Celebrate The 75th Anniversary Of OKLAHOMA! At Music Mountain Theatre Image

People will say they're in love with Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! at Music Mountain Theatre from August 3-19.

Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly and Laurey play out their love story. Love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. Audiences will enjoy hearing some Rodgers and Hammerstein favorites, 'Oh, What A Beautiful Morning,' 'Many A New Day,' 'People Will Say We're in Love,' and of course, 'Oklahoma!' Watch these two lovers begin in a new life in a brand-new state that provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant Oklahoma!

Starring as Curly and Laurey are Harrison Pharamond and Kristen VonWachenfeldt. Pharamond was last seen at MMT as Danny in Grease. His previous credits include the title role in Pippin and numerous university productions at the University of Pennsylvania. VonWachenfeldt is a relative newcomer to MMT, but she has appeared locally in the title role of Mary Poppins and Lily in The Secret Garden and professionally as Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Disney Cruise Lines.

Also starring are MMT Resident Company members Joan Hoffman (42nd Street, The Bad Seed) as Aunt Eller, Jaimie Geddes (Grease, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street) as Ado Annie, and Karl Weigand (Grease, A Chorus Line, Phantom) as Jud Fry.

This production is directed by Michael Moeller, an onstage favorite at MMT last seen as Roger DeBris in The Producers. Moeller has performed at Walnut Street Theatre and the Bucks County Playhouse and has directed locally at Town & Country Players. Michael's vision combined with his skill for scenic design (by day, he is an interior designer) will paint a picture so realistic, audiences will believe they are back on the farm in 1906. Making her MMT debut as choreographer is Deven Byrnes, who performed in the first national tour of Oklahoma!

Don't miss Oklahoma! at Music Mountain Theatre playing August 3-19; Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $22 for adults and $20 for students and seniors and are available online at www.musicmountaintheatre.org.
