Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at NJPAC's annual musical tribute, an all-star gospel celebration featuring Cece Winans, Anthony Brown & group therAPy, JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise, and a special guest speaker to be announced on Friday, January 18, 2019 8:00 PM.
This year's celebration will feature 12-time GRAMMY Award winner Cece Winans, one of the best-selling female gospel and R&B artists of all time. Winans has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and has sold in excess of 5 million albums in the U.S. alone. Her latest recording, 2017's Let Them Fall in Love, was described by Positively Gospel as "a vibrant, soul-stirring masterpiece." Since the release of his self-titled, 2012 debut album and its smash hit single, "Testimony," singer, songwriter and arranger Anthony Brown has become one of the newest gospel stars on the scene. Along with his longtime ensemble, group therAPy, Brown earned his first GRAMMY Award nomination for the 2015 album, Everyday Jesus, which also earned an unprecedented 10 Stellar Awards.New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), located in downtown Newark, N.J., has the most diverse programming and audience of any performing arts center in the country, and is the artistic, cultural, educational and civic center of New Jersey - where great performances and events enhance and transform lives every day.
