Hudson Theatre Works' has announced it's casting for their new adaptation of Chekov's masterpiece, Uncle Vanya, called "Uncle Vanya - A Jersey Life in Four Acts" adapted by Michael Puzzo.
In a new, innovative, adaptation by Michael Puzzo, commissioned by Hudson Theatre Works, Chekov's masterpiece is transported to a small New Jersey town a few years after Hurricane Sandy.
In an over-crowded Bed and Breakfast, a documentary film maker and his second wife, and the daughter and brother-in- law from his first marriage, navigate mid-life crises and unrequited love. Delusion and despair compete with humor and hope in Chekov's story about what is and what might have been.

Mr. Folie is also a playwright. Gregory Erbach as Pocky, Of Mice and Men and A Steady Rain (Hudson Theatre Works), On the Waterfront (Renegade Theater). Bess Miller as Sonia, Macbeth (Hudson Theatre Works), Richard III (Blunt Ensemble), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Sheen Center) as well as Dixon Place. Joanne Hoersch as Mrs. Voynitski, Angel City (Field Company), Haunted Lives and Action (Bandit Company), The Lover (Secret Theatre), Ms. Hoersch is also a playwright. The adaptation is by playwright Michael Puzzo, Spirits of Exit Eleven, (The Lion Theater), Impasto, (TADA), Go Low (Hudson Theatre Works) 5 Sandwiches (The Medicine Show), The Slasher's Lament (The New Ohio), Lyric is Waiting (Irish Repertory Theater), MY SOUL and The Dirty Talk, (CSNY & Edinburgh Fringe).
The play is directed by Frank Licato, Artistic Director of Hudson Theatre Works and winner of a 2018 Tanne Foundation Award. It is Stage Managed by Dawn D'Arrigo, Costumes by Ann Lowe and Music/Sound by Donald Stark.
