The Jazz Vocal Collective was created in 2007 by Carrie Jackson, Recording Artist, Vocalist, Jazz, Blues, Cabaret, Gospel. Learn more at www.cjayrecords.com.

Carrie's focus is to give talented jazz and cabaret performers the opportunity to explore their talents, conquer their fears, develop self-confidence by learning "the music business and tools of the trade" in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Included: PA Sound System, speakers, microphones, music stands, The JVC Workshop provides an opportunity for Singers/Artist's to delve deeply into both the technical and interpretive aspects of singing, where they intersect, and combine and apply these complementary skills. Singers choose musical selections from the Great American Songbook, Jazz, Blues and Contemporary Standards and find their unique and personal take on this timeless material and to perform songs in front of an invited audience in the Singers Showcase. The Singers give the finest exponents of their repertoire, and give specific insight regarding interpretation, music and lyric phrasing, and all aspects of performance technique to bring the beauty and story of the song to its fullest and greatest potential. Carrie Jackson ...... is a New York based vocalist and rekindles thoughts of America's great jazz history. Carrie has performed at Top Jazz Venues in the New York Tri-State metropolitan area also touring in the USA and abroad. Carrie attributes her vocal style of singing to her mentors, the Great Ladies of Jazz, Sarah "Sassy" Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Carmen Mc Rae. The truth is that she has a bit of all of them and more that is uniquely her own style and proudly carries the jazz banner. She is a vocalist and performer who spreads, shares her joy and well-honed expertise on the stage. Carrie has a wide range with a strong command of the classic elements of jazz vocalizing. She is also a gifted lyricist, has great timing and truly sings from her heart and is comfortable performing with a small combo, big band and or 21 piece Orchestra. Ms. Jackson was raised in Newark, NJ and honed her many talents in the New York metropolitan areas.
