CURTAINS: The Musical Comedy Whodunit Opens At Music Mountain Theatre Image

Musical Comedy and Murder have never been funnier together! From the creators of Cabaret and Chicago, Curtains: The Musical Comedy Whodunit, opens at Music Mountain Theatre on Friday, October 5. This hysterical, but not often performed, show was chosen to be part of MMT's second season by audience members in a contest held during the theatre's first season.

It's the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959. Boston's Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a brand-new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage, the entire cast and crew become suspects. Enter a local detective, who just so happens to be a big musical theatre fan! A hilarious journey for both performers and the audience alike, the original Broadway production starred David Hyde Pierce in a Tony Award-winning performance as Lt. Frank Cioffi.

Leading the MMT cast is Louis Palena as Lt. Frank Cioffi. Audiences will remember Palena from his performances as Jesus in Godspell, Zach in A Chorus Line, Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street and The Cat in the Hat in Seussical the Musical. MMT Resident Company Members Jaimie Geddes (42nd Street, Grease, Oklahoma) and Anna Hentz (42nd Street, Hairspray) co-star as Niki Harris and Carmen Bernstein. Also featured are MMT favorites David Whiteman, Jill Palena, Gigi Giblisco, and Eddie Honan.

Curtains is directed by Michael Moeller, choreographed by MMT's co-artistic director Jordan Brennan, and music directed by Rachel Benoit.

Curtains is sponsored by the Doylestown Escape Room, the borough's first and only immersive mystery and adventure game. Audiences have a chance to win a prize basket filled with mystery, including a $200 voucher for a thrilling escape adventure.

Find out "who did it" by coming to see Curtains at Music Mountain Theatre from October 5-21. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $23 for students and seniors and are available online at www.musicmountaintheatre.org or by calling the box office at 609-397-3337.
