Broadway at the Beach! 4 GIRLS 4 Comes to the Jersey Shore This Weekend

When four dynamic, award-winning musical stars from Broadway, film, TV and recordings come together in concert for one night on the same stage, what transpires is an evening of song, laughter and memories. You'll be delighted by the biggest hits from their Tony Award-winning shows and performances. Produced by Wayne J. Gmitter and Production Manager Patrick Rinn, 4 GIRLS 4 will play at Ocean Grove on Saturday, August 15 at 8 PM.

The luminous ladies forming this constellation in 4 GIRLS 4 are Randy Graff, Andrea McArdle, Maureen McGovern and Faith Prince. Musical direction is by John McDaniel (special musical material by Eric Cornfeld and John McDaniel) with staging by Donna McKechnie.

Song selections include "Tomorrow" from ANNIE (Andrea McArdle) "The Morning After" (Maureeen McGovern), "You Can Always Count on Me" from CITY OF ANGELS (Randy Graff) and "Adelaide's Lament" from GUYS AND DOLLS (Faith Prince).

Randy Graff won a Tony and Drama Desk Award for CITY OF ANGELS and earned nominations for A CLASS ACT. Also on Broadway she played Fantine in the original Broadway production of LES MISERABLES, and had starring roles in MOON OVER BUFFALO, FALSETTOS, HIGH SOCIETY, and the most recent revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. For the Sondheim Festival she has appeared in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. Her solo concert work includes THE BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS CONCERT FOR LINCOLN CENTER, and CY COLEMAN AND FRIENDS WITH THE KENNEDY CENTER ORCHESTRA. Her own show, MADE IN BROOKLYN, has played to sold-out houses at 54 Below Night Club and is currently touring. She has recorded a solo CD: "Doing Something Right...Randy Graff Sings Cy Coleman".

Andrea McArdle (pictured) originated the title role in ANNIE in 1977, became the youngest performer ever to be nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical, and went on to perform the role in London's West End. On Broadway she has starred in JERRY'S GIRLS, STARLIGHT EXPRESS and STATE FAIR, LES MISERABLES and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Belle). Off Broadway, Andrea has appeared in the satirical NEWSICAL; she has played the title role in a regional productions of MAME. Other theater appearances include leading roles in GYPSY, GREASE, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, EVITA and OLIVER. On PBS she has appeared in Andrea McArdle on Broadway and The Leading Ladies of Broadway.

Maureen McGovern, celebrated as "The Stradivarius Voice", was Grammy-nominated in 1973 as Best New Artist for "The Morning After" (The Poseidon Adventure). Her other film score hits include "Can You Read My Mind" (Superman) and the Oscar-winning "We May Never Love Like This Again" from The Towering Inferno. Her many critically acclaimed recordings include tributes to George Gershwin, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Harold Arlen and Richard Rodgers. Her current CD, A Long and Winding Road, has been praised by the New York Times as "A captivating musical scrapbook from the 1960's to the early 70's. Ms. McGovern's vocal technique is second to none." Her Broadway credits include PIRATES OF PENZANCE, NINE, THE THREEPENNY OPERA and LITTLE WOMEN. Regionally she has starred in DEAR WORLD, THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG and OF THEE I SING. She is currently performing her one-woman musical memoir "Carry It On".

Faith Prince has been dazzling Broadway audiences since winning the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Ms. Adelaide in GUYS AND DOLLS (1995). Faith most recently starred as Miss Hannigan in the Broadway revival of ANNIE. Other Broadway musical credits include THE LITTLE MERMAID, BELLS ARE RINGing and LITTLE ME, among others, and she starred in the national tour of the Broadway hit BILLY ELLIOTT. Faith recently did an Australian concert tour which included performances at the Sydney Opera House and the Adelaide Festival. In Australia she also toured her show MOVING ON to rave reviews, and also toured in OVER THE RAINBOW, a concert celebrating the centennial of Harold Arlen. She starred in the Orlando Philharmonic's concert version of SWEENEY TODD, and she often works with the Boston Pops, Utah Symphony, Cincinnati Pops and Philly Pops. Her award-winning album "A Leap of Faith" was recorded at Joe's Pub, and she recently released her new album "Total Faith".

John McDaniel has been the Broadway Music Director or Supervisor for BONNIE AND CLYDE, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, BROOKLYN, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, TABOO, CHICAGO, GREASE, PATTI LUPONE on BROADWAY, and COMPANY- Original Cast in Concert at Lincoln Center. Recent credits: DAUGHTER OF THE REGIMENT (Opera Theatre of St. Louis) and HAPPY DAYS (national tour), John has appeared in concert with Cab Calloway, Shirley MacLaine, Joel Grey, Carol Burnett, Betty Buckley and Bette Midler, among others. He has been the Musical Director/Arranger for Tyne Daly nightclub act (NYC and LA) and was the Musical Director for The Rosie O'Donnell Show (2 Emmy Awards). He has been the producer for many recordings including The Maury Yeston Songbook, Brooklyn, Taboo and John McDaniel at the Piano (Broadway, Christmas, Compositions and Live at Joe's Pub). John has been a guest conductor at symphony orchestras, including San Francisco, Baltimore and his hometown St. Louis Symphony.
