Black Box PAC Teaneck NJ Gets Groovy with HAIR ImageThe Black Box Performing Arts Center continues to emerge as the Tri-State area's premiere destination for both cutting-edge professional theater and collaborative arts education - in the heart of Teaneck and just a quick ride over the George Washington Bridge. Following a stellar second season of professional theater, Black Box Studios is proud to present a new immersive production of HAIR that will bring you "onto the streets" with the "hippies" themselves!

HAIR - presented in special arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc. - is directed by BBPAC Artistic Director Matt Okin, with Musical Director/Bandleader Static, Choreographer Nachi Lederer, Assistant Director Bishon Prushankin, Stage Manager Jason Felix, and Designer Nimon Ibrahimaj. The tribe is comprised of top-notch NY and NJ-based performers Sam Cancelarich, Brennen Dopwell,

Kira Gavalakis, Miranda Luze, Camille Sims, DaShaun Williams, and

Conor Wilson, with Black Box Repertory Company members Samuel Hapner-Goldman, Nachi Lederer, Danielle MacMath, and Bishon Prushankin. The show also features special guest artist Stephan Marcellus.

HAIR will play over three weekends only, from June 21 through July 8, on Thursdays at 8:00PM, Saturdays at 9:30PM, and Sunday nights at 8:00pm (rated R), with PG-13 matinees on Sundays at 3:00PM. Performances are at Black Box Studios' home, the Black Box Performing Arts Center (200 Walraven Drive. (just off Palisade Ave., GPS: 290 Walraven Drive), Teaneck, NJ 07666.

HAIR follows a group of hopeful, free-spirited young people who advocate a lifestyle of pacifism and free-love in a society riddled with intolerance and brutality during the Vietnam War. As they explore sexual identity, challenge racism, experiment with drugs and burn draft cards, the "tribe" in Hair creates an irresistible message of 'hope' that continues to resonate with audiences 50 years later.

Tickets are $30 ($25 for students/seniors) and are now available at www.blackboxpac.com. Group rates ($20) for 10 or more are available by calling (201) 357-2221. Tickets can also be purchased at the venue; please call (201) 357-2221 for box office hours.

Due to mature content and imagery, viewer discretion is advised for Hair.
