"Cinderella" is a magical retelling of a most beloved story, and a tuneful, fast-paced comedy specifically created for younger audiences. This frothy pantomime style offers direct asides to the audience and modern day references to be appreciated by young theatregoers, as well as those of all ages. The show runs approximately 60 minutes and is suitable for the wiggliest of kids.
First written in 1697 by French author,
Charles Perrault, "Cinderella" stands the test of time and remains a favorite amongst generations. Its universal message reminds us to dream big and believe in the desires we carry in our hearts; goodness and humility will always rise above jealousy and conceit.
Bill Kaufman of Fair Lawn may be making his directorial debut at Bergen County Players, but he is no stranger to theatre. With over 40 years of directing experience, he has helmed more than 100 shows with actors and singers of all ages. His directing credits include productions at The Ridgewood Gilbert and Sullivan Players,
William Paterson University, Garden State Opera, Montclair Operetta Club, Old Library Theatre, Studio Players, Teaneck New Theatre, and Playhouse on the Mall. Onstage, he recently appeared in BCP's production of "Man of La Mancha" and in "How to Succeed in Business" with Leonia Summerstage. As Bill reminds us, "It's important to dream big and have aspirations. If we don't reach for what we want, we will never get anywhere. But if we are willing to look into our hearts and reach out our hands for
what we really want, we will be surprised by what we can touch." "Cinderella" promises a special treat for theatregoers this holiday season. Order your tickets soon, as seats are moving fast and are bound to sell out.
