New Jersey Repertory Company has announced the world premiere production of American Stare by Tony Glazer, directed by Evan Bergman. American Stare begins preview performances tonight, June 14, 2012 and will celebrate its opening night on Saturday, June 16 at New Jersey Repertory Company (179 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ), running through Sunday, July 22.

American Stare is a ferocious new comedy set in a South Florida trailer park where corporate greed meets its match in a community that will go to any lengths to protect its own. Following the spiraling lives of six people – a widowed woman and her dog, a disabled accused child-predator, and a couple and their teenage daughter, we are challenged to see the world through their eyes – a world led by a broken moral compass, tainted with pervasiveness of special interests.

The cast of American Stare are Summer Crockett Moore (Film: Junction Theatre: Last Summer at Bluefish, NYIT Award, Reading Under the Influence), Becca Ballenger (Little Town Blues , Richard 3 ; American Girls), Trey Gibbons (Ain't That Life: In Short, How I Learned To Drive, NYIT Award), Brad Holbrook ( The Onion News Network, Manchurian Candidate, I Am Legend), LeeAnne Hutchison (Film: Brewsie And Willie, One Fall, Theatre: Septimus And Clarissa, Drama Desk Nom), Shane Patrick Kearns (“Law & Order: SVU,” Blue Collar Boys). The production design team includes Jessica Parks (Set Design), Jill Nagle (Lighting Design), John Emmett O’Brien (Sound Design), Patricia E. Doherty (Costume Design), Jennifer Tardibuono (Stage Manager) and Jessica Parks (Props).
