Art House Hosts Open Mic Night, Art Exhibit Opening, et. al. 6/3-4

The Art House at Hamilton Square (One McWilliams Place, Jersey City) hosts several events this week starting with an open mic finale, an art celebration, an artist exhibit opening, and a night of  strange and unusual performances. On Thursday, June 3rd, from 8 pm to 10 pm, the Art House opens the final open mic night until October. Poets, musicians, and performance artists are invited to attended as well as audiences who wish to see the unknown. Admission is $5 which includes refreshments. The evening will be taped for television.

Art House presents the JC Friday's Seasonal Celebration of Arts in Jersey City. It takes place all day on Friday, June 4t and it's free. Some events include a performance by the Grassroots Community Space of "PACHAMAMA: A Celebration of Women & Their Art;" a musical and spoken word performance by the Uptown Crew; and photo exbitation by the Tatsuro Nishimure Portrait Studio. Art House Productions and Cosi Café and Restaurant present Roxana Marroquin: The Reconstruction of Memory on June 4th from 6 pm to 8 pm. This group of photographs is a collection of the artist's process in which she investigates her personal psyche through memories, dreams, and the subconscious as she aims to "Reconstruct" the Memory of who she is. Location is at the Cosi Cafe and Restaurant on 535 Washington Blvd in Jersey City. Admission is free.

Back at the Art House, Late Night Curiosities returns on Friday, June 4th at 10:30 pm and midnight. There is no telling what the evening will but except for entertainers with strange and eccentric talents. The evening is not for the faint at heart. Admission is free.
